Our Community, Our Schools - Oct 5, 2017

We have eight great schools, over 900 incredible staff, and just over 5,000 outstanding students and numerous community education programs OurSchoolsfor residents of all ages.  We are so incredibly fortunate that our community supports our education system.  Your ongoing support helps to keep Owatonna a vibrant community.  Thanks to voter approval in 2015, we are now celebrating the opening of Owatonna Middle School and McKinley Elementary.  Both buildings have undergone major renovations to improve the learning spaces for our 21st century learners.  We are also in the process of improving Lincoln Elementary and Washington Elementary to improve the learning environments and add valuable learning space.  Our newly named "Owatonna Education Center" is home to Early Childhood Special Education and our Area Learning Center.

School Board Endorses Owatonna Forward Destiny Drivers - Jan 4, 2018

Owatonna Education Center:  Home to Special Services - May 1, 2018

Did you know that the Owatonna Education Center (OEC) located at 338 East Main Street (formerly known as Washington Elementary) not only houses the Alternative Learning Center on the main level, but also many district staff? 

The offices located on the second and third floor of the OEC house amazing special services staff who work tirelessly every day so that Owatonna Public Schools can continue to provide the best special services possible for our students. Increased collaborative resources shared with classrooms, teachers, support staff, and administrative processes leads to improved services for students receiving special services. "It is my belief that by having dynamic and diverse staff with offices located at the OEC, we have positively impacted not only the education of, but interactions with, the students and families we serve," stated Wendy Cirksena, Director of Special Services. It is the goal of the Special Services Department and OEC Staff to continue this momentum for the remainder of the year and further build on what has been cultivated into the 2018-19 school year and beyond.

Summer Food Service Program - May 11, 2018

Welcome parents, grandparents, daycare providers, friends and neighbors!  Owatonna Public Schools will once again be offering free meals for all children, ages 1-18 this summer.  No income guidelines apply, simply show up at the site of your choice.  Children eat for free.  Adult breakfasts are $2.25, and the adult lunches are $4.00.
